FullerLong secured retrospective listed building consent for internal and external works to the basement flat of an 1840s Grade II listed building in Bayswater.

The client had commenced works of refurbishment and minor remodelling of the property, including works to the layout of the flat, replacement French doors and the introduction of a feature ceiling. The flat had previously been heavily altered and no original features survived.

FullerLong Heritage Consultant Hannah Walker argued that the works introduced a new cohesive character to the flat and through a detailed Heritage Statement demonstrated that the works would not affect the special architectural and historic interest of the listed building. In the case of the works to the ceilings, FullerLong were able to identify similar works that had been approved elsewhere in the borough, providing strong precedent.

In this instance we were able to assist a client who faced potential enforcement action and to bring the case to a swift positive conclusion.
