| Development Description: Upgrading of coffee shop in Marylebone Station |
| location: Westminster City Council |
Fuller Long are delighted to have worked alongside AMT System Limited who have upgraded the AMT Coffee Shop inside Marylebone Station, providing greatly improved facilities, contextual design and a better experience for customers using the Station.
Marylebone Station is a grade II listed building constructed in the late 19th century. As an important transport hub, with quick and easy access to surrounding attractions such as Regent’s Park, Hyde Park and Kensington and Buckingham Palaces, any alterations to the station must be carefully considered to make sure they do not impact upon its significance.
Our heritage consultants provided an in-depth heritage statement to support the project which covered the full history of the station and the surrounding area, as well as the specific elements of the station that contributed to its significance and how the proposed development would impact upon that significance. By clearly outlining the proposals and their potential impacts, the case officer at Westminster City Council was given a clear understanding of how the development would visually impact the Station.
With all the facts in place from the outset of the project, the case officer was able to grant listed building consent for the proposal, creating a practical and contemporary coffee shop at the heart of the station to serve commuters coming in and out of the city.
