Application Type: Planning appeal
Development Description: Planning Appeal
Local Planning Authority: Royal Borough of Greenwich Council

Fuller Long have successfully won a planning appeal in Eltham, London.

Our team of experienced planning and heritage consultants undertook an assessment of the previously refused planning application in order to understand the reasons for refusal; which in this case were the impact of the development upon the host property and the character and appearance of the Progress Estate Conservation Area.

The building in question is located in an area characterised as predominantly residential. Our heritage team were able to draw out the key features that contributed to the significance of the conservation area and successfully argued that the proposal would not be detrimental to the host building or the wider conservation area. Using an in-depth policy assessment by our planning team, the appeal was successful and full planning permission was granted. The key policies within the Royal  Greenwich Local Plan Core Strategy were  Policy DH3 , which addressed development in conservation areas and  Policy DH1, which outlined how development should enhance the built environment.
